Udupi: The temperature in the Coastal areas has risen to the maximum extent for the past few days making it difficult for people to move around in the scorching sun. Hence, the Department of Public Instruction has asked the officials concerned to pay more attention to the health of children and students in the District in view of the rising maximum temperature in the Coastal Districts above normal.
Not playing in the sun from 11.00 am to 3.00 pm, avoiding exposure to direct sunlight, using a cap and an umbrella when you have to go out in case of need, drinking plenty of water frequently if you are not thirsty, washing your hands regularly and eating food, keeping the windows and doors open during the preparation of cooking as well as eating vegetables and fruits in large quantities.
In the interest of children and students, the Department of Public Instruction has asked the headmasters, kitchen staff and parents to take action on the above issues and to inform the head teachers of their respective zones to provide clean drinking water to the students and submit a report to the office.
