Udupi: Four interstate thieves held in District

Udupi: Shirva Police Officers arrested four interstate thieves in the District.

The arrested accused have been identified as Ashur Ali (32), Shanabella B. (45), Ganesh Kumar of Dindigal District of Tamil Nadu and Mohammad Ali (32).

The accused allegedly entered a shop on June 6 under the pretext of buying gold and stole 28.79 gm, worth Rs 1.49 lakhs.

Shirva Police registered a case in this regard.

During the investigation, the officials found that they were interstate thieves and a case has been filed against them at the Moodbidri Police Station.

Police officials informed that they tracked the location of the accused using Shanabella’s mobile number. They conducted a raid on the lodge after learning that the accused were staying there.

Police officers seized a bike, 28.882 gm of gold bullion worth Rs. 1,49,000 and 26 gm of gold bullion worth Rs. 1,17,000 from the accused.
