Udupi: Various developmental works of about Rs 818.47 cr has been sanctioned for Udupi constituency between May 8, 2013 to December 20, 2017. These works range from road development, construction of bridges, buildings, school and colleges buildings, water distribution projects, SCP-TSP, Malpe Beach development, fishing jetties, hospital buildings and others.
Addressing the review meeting of various developmental works in the district, district in-charge minister Pramodh Madhwaraj said that Parampalli bridge over river Suvarna connecting Manipal and Parampalli will be completed before February 15. All in all, he informed that a sum of Rs. 78.68 crores will be spent on construction of bridges alone in the district at various places till 2017.
Meanwhile, the minister set a deadline of one week for the department concerned to complete the road patch work in Municipal limits and directed the officials of the NH to complete Manipal-Parkala and Adi Udupi-Malpe at the earliest. He said that land acquisition process must be sorted out at the earliest.
Though the PWD officials said that PWD works would be completed before January end, the minister set a final deadline of February 15.
Municipal Commissioner Manjunathaiah and officials of cdepartments’ officials were present during the review meeting.
