Udupi: KUC update scam, man duped of Rs 1.6 lakh

Udupi: A man lost Rs. 1.6 lakh in an online KYC update scam.

According to sources, Stanley P. Kunder of the ALN Rao layout on Alevoor Road filed a complaint regarding this at the CEN Police Station.

The complaint claims that on November 3, 2022, he received an SMS asking him to finish updating his bank’s KYC information. He called the number listed in the message the next day after believing it to be true.

He got a call on February 2 from an unknown number asking for his bank account information and OTP. Then, Rs. 1,06,826 were withdrawn from his bank account.
