Udupi: Minister for Backward Classes and Social Welfare Kota Srinivas Poojary said that the previous Siddaramaiah Government had completely deactivated the Lokayukta by setting up the ACB. “But the BJP Government has given life and strength to the Lokayukta,” he said.
Responding to a question in Manipal on the BJP’s setback in the MLA Madal corruption case, he said, “We have not made Lokayukta attack such people and catch them. We have armed Lokayukta to control corruption in transparent administration. Lokayukta is working on that basis,” he said.
“Could the Lokayukta have gone and conducted such raids under any other administration other than the BJP Government?” he asked.
There have been minor allegations against our partymen. It will be arranged according to the law, he said.
