Udupi: Lorry driver murdered near cashew factory

Udupi: In a shocking incident, a lorry driver was murdered near a cashew factory at Mudralu in Mudaru Village of Karkala Taluk in the District.

The cashew factory at Mudralu used to get loads of cashew nuts from Tamil Nadu every year and they used to unload in lorries.

Accordingly, on Monday January 30, at 4.00 pm, the trucks loaded with cashew nuts arrived and they unloaded. Two more lorries arrived at 05.30 pm and as it was late as the lorry stopped near the factory without unloading.

At around 8.30 pm, when the driver and replacement drivers of the lorries were also present there, one of the workers of factory who was working on the top of the factory heard a loud shout from the spot where the lorry stopped.

A case has been registered at Karkala Rural Police Station after it was suspected that another driver of the lorry, Veerabahu murdered Mani for some reason.
