Udupi: MLA Raghupati Bhat inaugurated the new floating bridge at Malpe beach on Sunday December 25.
Former Minister Pramod Madhwaraj and SP Akshay Hakay were present for the event.
It can be recalled that the Tourism Department authorities dismantled the first floating bridge at Malpe, citing security concerns, a few days after it was inaugurated in May.
Over 4,000 people visit the beach every day, and that figure surges to over 10,000 on weekends and holidays.
According to sources, the District Administration has improved security measures at beach facilities to protect tourists from any dangerous situation.
