Udupi: In a shocking incident, an Assistant Professor at Manipal’s reputed college, allegedly abused a Muslim student as a terrorist in the class. The student took a strong exception to the teacher’s remarks and in turn the teacher apologised. This video is now going viral on social media.
It is learnt that the institute’s management immediately took action and suspended the Assistant Professor and has ordered an internal inquiry.
While talking to the students, the teacher allegedly spoke in the tone that Muslims were terrorists. Angered by his remarks, the student objected to his statement and warned not to call the Muslim community terrorists.
“Don’t talk like this even as an unnecessary joke,” the student can be heard saying. It was then that the Assistant Professor realised his mistake and apologised to the student. However, the student again objected that the allegations made will not change as soon as one apologises.
As soon as the video went viral, action was taken against the Assistant Professor and the institute suspended him and has subjected him to an internal inquiry
