Rathotsava celebrates at Kollur Mookambika Temple

Udupi: The Rathotsava (chariot festival) was celebrated on the afternoon of Tuesday October 4, as part of Sharannavaratri at the Kollur Mookambika Temple.
Various poojas and rituals were held from the day of Navaratri to the Mahanavami. The Devi idol was kept on the decorated chariot that was taken out of the temple in a procession.

The chariot was pulled by thousands of people who completed three rounds around the temple premises.

Byndoor MLA B. M. Sukumar Shetty, former MLA K. Gopala Poojary, Deputy Commissioner Kurma Rao, President of the temple management committee Chandrashekar Shetty Keradi, members of the management committee, former trustees, and religious leaders were present.

Thousands of devotees crowded the temple. There was sufficient security in place. The rituals on Wednesday began at 3.00 am. The Vijayotsava celebration will be held in the evening.
