Udupi: Rs 8.9 lakh stolen from currency chest

Udupi: A case has been registered against an unidentified thief for stealing Rs. 8.9 lakh from the currency chest.

The currency chest belongs to a businessman in Kola of Malpe in the District. What has come as a surprise is that the chest had Rs. 10.3 lakh with thief only stealing Rs. 8.9 lakh.

As per complaint by businessman Suresh Lamani, he has stated that he found room door broke open after he returned from Maple port in the evening and cash stolen from chest. Police investigation in the case is on.
