Udupi: A tempo carrying scrap materials collided with several vehicles before overturning near the bus stand at Surya Chaitanya School Kuthyar on Sunday October 23.
The tempo was transporting scrap materials from Shiva to Kolnad in Mulki when the accident happened.
According to sources, the tempo initially collided with a Honda Activa at a turn near Kuthyar Uppari, injuring rider Rafeeq. After that, the tempo collided with another two-wheeler injuring Sadashiva Acharya. Acharya was able to escape the accident with minor injuries, but his vehicle was completely destroyed.
The tempo overturned near Surya Chaitanya School’s bus stop.
The tempo driver Rajesh (38) fled from the accident spot. Later, he was caught by the villagers and handed to the police.
Shirva Police are investigating the incident.
