Udupi: The Congress government is trying to create a rift in the society by promising to withdraw the anti-cow slaughter law. I am confident that the government will back down from its stand. Vidyavallabha Theertha Swamiji of Kaniyoor Mutt said, “If the law banning cow slaughter is withdrawn, we will oppose it”, he added.

Speaking to mediapersons in the city , he said, “We are worshipping cows in the mother’s place. Cow slaughter is the most sinful act according to Hinduism. “If the process of change takes place, we will oppose it,” he said.

The Animal Husbandry Minister should not speak non-rational words. The religious concept of a cow should not be hurt. We worship the cow as a deity. Spiritual faith should not be hit. He said the spiritual thinking of Hindus should not be treated with sarcasm.
