Udupi: A woman died by suicide after consuming rat poison.
The deceased woman has been identified as Binsi Shaiju Thomas (30). It is learnt that she consumed rat poison on October 26 and also wrote a death note.
On October 31, she fell ill due to severe vomiting and diarrhea and was admitted to Brahmavar Jeevan Jyoti Hospital for treatment. Later her health deteriorated and on November 3 she was admitted to a private hospital in Manipal for further treatment. She died in the hospital on Saturday November 5.
It is said that Binsi’s husband was abroad and she was living alone with her only child in the upper floor of her husband’s house. A case has been registered at Brahmavar Police Station.
