Udupi: The death of a man from Kukkehalli, initially suspected to be a case of suicide, turned out to be a murder case. The accused has been arrested by the police.

A complaint was filed on October 14, to the Hiriyadka Police Station, which stated that Kritik Salian, a 22-year-old resident of Pandukatte, had killed himself. However, Kritik’s family members suspected he had been murdered.

During the police investigation, they found that Kritik was murdered by Dinesh Safaliga, a distant relative. The police arrested him.

According to sources, Dinesh, the accused, was pressuring on Kritik by failing to repay lakhs of rupees he had borrowed from the deceased. The police’s investigation revealed that Dinesh had murdered Kritik by tricking him into thinking he would film his suicide for fun.

Further investigation is on.
