Will stage protest if sand is not given by Oct 15: Udupi BJP’s Mattar Hegde

Udupi: The BJP will organise a protest if the district administration does not provide sand by October 15, said Mattar Rathnakar Hegde, President of district BJP committee.

Addressing a press meet at the BJP office here, on Saturday, October 13, Mattar Rathnakar Hegde said that the district had set October as the deadline to solve the sand issues and that they should make the sand available to the people by October 15, as per the assurance was given by Chief Minister Kumaraswamy.

He also informed that they would seek the cooperation of builders, engineers, contractors and others in the non-party campaign under the leadership of the BJP.

Speaking about the upcoming Lok Sabha and Assembly by-polls he said that the BJP would win with a record number of votes. “In the previous Legislative Assembly elections, the BJP won by more than 25,000 votes. It will win with a margin of 50,000 votes this time,” Hegde said.

He also informed that a meeting of BJP activists, along with BJP state President B S Yeddyurappa, BJP candidate B Y Raghavendra, Byndoor MLA B. M. Sukumar Shetty and other district officials, will be held on October 19, in Kollur in connection with the Shivamogga Lok Sabha elections.
