Couple become parents of orphaned elephant calf in Bandipur

 Chamarajnagara: The incident, which resembles the movie ‘The Elephant Whispers’, took place at the Rampura elephant camp in Bandipur Sanctuary in Chamarajanagar district. The couple has grabbed attention by nurturing an orphaned baby elephant.
A family is nurturing the baby elephant, which is separated from its parents. The calf separated from the mother seven days after the baby was born and have been taking care of the calf elephant since then. This baby elephant has been named Veda.
The orphaned elephant Veda did not spare Raju and his wife for a moment. Veda, who drinks 12 liters of milk every day, is the darling child of this couple. Bandipur forest officials have expressed appreciation for the selfless service rendered by the couple. The forest department officials are providing financial assistance for the maintenance of baby elephants.
