CHENNAI: Tension prevailed at the Government Mohan Kumaramangalam Medical College Hospital in Salem as over 50 doctors staged a protest demanding urgent recruitment of additional medical staff. The demonstration, led by the Federation of Government Doctors Associations (FOGDA), highlighted the mounting pressure on existing staff due to the growing patient load.

Doctors raised slogans calling for the appointment of more doctors in proportion to patient numbers, stressing that the current staffing levels were insufficient to provide adequate care. The protest also included a list of long-standing demands from government doctors, seeking better working conditions and support.

According to reports from Thanthi TV, the protest was peaceful but created a tense atmosphere at the hospital. The protesting doctors made it clear that the quality of healthcare was at stake if staffing issues were not addressed promptly.
