Dosa & Nostalgia: Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah Drops by Bengaluru’s Iconic CTR
In a refreshing pause from his political routine, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah visited the legendary Central Tiffin Room (CTR) in Malleshwaram, Bengaluru, on Friday.
Known for its perfectly crisp masala dosas, CTR has been a beloved part of the city’s culinary scene since 1920. Sharing a moment from his visit on social media platform X, Siddaramaiah wrote, “Amidst politics, I took some time out to visit Central Tiffin Room, popularly known as CTR. It reminded me of the dosas I enjoyed years ago.”
He praised the eatery’s unwavering quality over the decades, noting, “The taste of their dosas hasn’t changed. It was a delight to experience the same flavor again.”
Earlier this year, CTR expanded its legacy beyond Malleshwaram by opening a new outlet at Kempegowda International Airport’s Terminal 2. The move brought Bengaluru’s signature flavors — dosas, idlis, and rich filter coffee — to global travelers.
The airport branch has already won hearts, including that of Bengaluru Airport COO Satyaki Raghunath, who shared his excitement: “Growing up in Malleshwaram, this is a nostalgic joy. Had my first benne masala dosa here — absolutely delicious!”
CTR’s legacy continues not just as a food joint, but as a cultural symbol of Bengaluru’s rich traditions and timeless tastes.
