Chamarajanagar: A loaded Eicher van transporting PVC pipes from Pune, Maharashtra, to Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, lost control at a sharp turn along the Dhimbam Ghat section of the Karnataka-Tamil Nadu National Highway in the morning. It came to a stop in a precarious position, close to the edge of a potential fall.
The incident occurred when the driver lost control of the vehicle at the ninth sharp turn along Dhimbam Ghat. The driver was en route from Pune, Maharashtra, to Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, passing through Dhimbam Ghat in the Erode district, which is adjacent to Chamarajanagar district.
The Eicher vehicle collided with the safety barrier and came to a halt. As a result of the incident, the traffic flow between the two states was disrupted for a duration of four hours.
Fortunately, the driver emerged from the incident without any injuries. Normal traffic resumed after the Tamil Nadu police used a crane to remove the Eicher vehicle.
