Chamarajanagara: In a significant development, the flying squad team has taken action against former MLA Yatindra for allegedly making derogatory statements against Union Home Minister Amit Shah during a Congress party meeting.
On Monday Gundurao of the Flying Scud team lodged a complaint at the Hanur police station, urging authorities to take appropriate action against Yatindra for violating the model code of conduct by delivering objectionable remarks against Amit Shah.
During a Congress workers’ meeting convened in Hanur on the 28th of last month, Yatindra Siddaramaiah reportedly made inflammatory remarks, referring to Amit Shah as a “hooligan” and “rowdy,” and accused him of being involved in the Gujarat genocide. He further alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had appointed such an individual to a high-ranking position in the country.
Following these remarks, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) filed a complaint in Bangalore, prompting the Election Officer of Chamarajanagar to issue a notice to Yatindra, seeking clarification regarding his statements. Now, with the flying squad team’s complaint lodged at the Hanur police station, the matter has escalated further.
Hanur police said no FIR was registered against Yatindra so far as complaint comes under non cognizable offences .
