Fatal bike-car collision in Mulki claims one life

Mulki: A heartbreaking accident occurred near the Mulki Vijaya Sannidhi junction on National Highway 66, leading to the unfortunate loss of life for a co-rider, while the driver sustained severe injuries when their car collided head-on with another vehicle.
The victim who lost life has been recognized as Preethika Shetty (21), hailing from Kasargod, Kerala. Meanwhile, the injured motorcyclist has been identified as Manvith Raj Shetty (21), residing in Aranthodi Balepuni within Bantawala taluk.
The motorcycle, traveling from Udupi towards Mangaluru, was struck by a car attempting to cross the highway from the Kinnigoli side towards Mulki, near the Vijaya Sannidhi junction on Mulki National Highway. Tragically, Preetika Shetty, the passenger seated at the back of the motorcycle, suffered severe head and leg injuries and tragically lost her life while en route to the hospital.
The accident caused a temporary disruption in traffic flow on the highway. Police swiftly responded to the scene and removed the two vehicles involved in the collision.
Assistant Commissioner of Police for Mangaluru North Traffic, Geetha Kulkarni, and Inspector Sharief arrived at the scene to conduct an inspection.
