In a world where most have no time for the other, it is indeed commendable that a fifty-five year old woman came forward to build a well for the children at her home town in Sirsi.

Having begun the work on the 30th of January, Gouri Naik now stands amidst the praises of all the locals in the area, which was suffering from a scarcity.

And this is not the first time the areca nut seller comes forward with such an initiative. The woman had earlier dug a 70 foot open well.

While that was to support her areca nut trees, this time was to provide drinking water to the children of her anganwadi.

Sadly, the second time was not as smooth as the first, as the fifty five year old has to face opposition officials of the Women and Child Welfare Development, who came forward to warn her of her actions.

The well is now twelve feet deep, and may soon come to success, with the hundreds of supporters that the woman now has to fight in her favor and ensure the completion of the well.

In fact, protesters at the place strongly feel that the authorities should take action against those opposing the actions of the kind woman and that the well should be completed at all costs.
