Karwar: Gas leakage from a tanker caused panic among the people on National Highway 66 at Kadekodi in Kumta taluk.

A white liquid leaked out from the back pipes of a tanker that was traveling from Goa to Mangalore, quickly spreading and covering the area like clouds. Some people ran out of their houses in a state of panic and stood in shock, while the passing vehicles halted and then reversed their direction.

Later, when people asked the tanker driver about the incident, he said that it was liquid nitrogen and there was no danger. “There was a little problem and I called the technician. They came and fixed it so that people don’t have any problems,” he said. The public felt relieved after being told that there was nothing to be scared of.
