A theft at the residence of a Subrahmanya Math priest has raised concerns in the temple town. Anand Bhat, the priest, discovered the crime upon returning home on December 22 after his regular duties.

The front door lock of his house had been broken, and the cupboard safe forcibly opened. Stolen items included ₹25,000 in cash and gold ornaments weighing 23 grams, valued at ₹1.15 lakh. These were taken from a wallet stored securely in the safe.

Subrahmanya police, along with an investigative team, conducted a thorough inspection of the crime scene. A case has been registered, and further inquiries are in progress to identify the culprits and recover the stolen property.
