Haveri (Karnataka): Thirteen individuals lost their lives and two others sustained critical injuries when their minibus collided with a stationary truck in Byadagi Taluk of Karnataka’s Haveri district early Friday morning, according to officials.
The victims, all from Shivamogga, were returning from Savadatti in Belagavi district after a pilgrimage to Goddess Yallamma, authorities reported.
The injured have been hospitalized, with their condition described as serious by the police.
Preliminary reports suggest that the accident occurred due to the bus driver falling asleep at the wheel.
