Ranebennur Police Bust Motorbike Theft Network ,Seize 29 Bikes Worth ₹23lac

Haveri: The city police station in Ranebennur has made a significant breakthrough in uncovering a network of motorbike thefts across various parts of the state. Three accused individuals have been apprehended, and 29 stolen motorbikes, valued at ₹23 lakh, have been recovered.

Led by CPI Shankar S. and District Superintendent Anshu Kumar, the police team successfully traced the operations of the bike theft network. The breakthrough occurred when the police team parked near Sangam Circle on June 25 and arrested three individuals with the help of technology and CCTV footage.

The accused include Mehmuda Hazrattali Mugalageri (28) from Hirekerur, Tanveera Abdul Munapa Lakshmeshwar (28) from SM Krishna Nagar in Hubballi, and Khalandara Sarparaj Pathan (22) from Hirekerur. Another individual involved in the thefts, Habibullah Barasaba Kachavi of Tippu Nagar, Hirekerur, remains absconding as law enforcement agencies continue their search for him.

District Superintendent Anshu Kumar commended his team during a press conference at Nagar police station premises on Monday. He disclosed that the operation resulted in recovering 29 bikes of different models worth ₹23 lakh. The accused admitted to stealing bikes parked near Jan Sandani Pradesh Railway Station Bus Stand Bank in Ranebennur.

It was revealed that these criminal activities extended to districts such as Haveri, Davanagere, Shimoga, Chikkamagaluru, Uttara Kannada, Hassan, Gadag, Belgaum, and Bangalore city. Those involved included Additional SP C Gopal, DySP Girisha Bojannavar, Nagar Thane CPI Shankar SK, Nagar Thane PSI Gaddeppa Gunjutagi, H.N. Dodmani, C.B. Kadleppanavar, P.K. Sanidi, Y.B. Olekar, and H.L. Srikanth Korava Maruti Halabavi Vitthal DB Ramareddy Satish Markat, who were also instrumental to this success.
