Dr. Sannaberappa Sannaputtakkanavar, a reptile conservationist and the chief veterinary officer at the polyclinic, led the critical operation on Nagara Panchami. The cobra had sustained severe injuries, including an eight-inch wound on its stomach. Dr. Sannaberappa and his team performed complex procedures, including visceral evisceration, laceration repair, and reconstructive surgery, which required 17 stitches. The surgery, conducted under anesthesia, took about an hour.

Once the cobra showed signs of improvement, it was decided to release it back into the wild. The snake was subsequently released into the Karjagi Reserve Forest area.
