Black Day: Congress march against demonetisation anniversary

Hubballi: The members of district Congress observed one year of demonetisation by the Centre as “Black Day” by taking out protest marches on November 8.

The protest march led by leaders A M Hindasageri, Altaf Hallur, H V Madalli started after garlanding Dr. B R Ambedkar’s statue on Station Road and reached Tahsildar’s Office where a memorandum was sent to the President of India through the taluk administration.

The memorandum demanded an apology from Prime Minister Narendra Modi in view of the demonetisation affecting the life of common man the most.

The speakers who addressed the gathering said everyday was a black day for the nation and poor, after Modi took over as PM and only rich were benefited by the demonetisation but not the poor.

Modi lied to people before elections and continued the same after the elections too, they ridiculed.

Dharwad

In Dharwad too, the Congress members observed “Black Day” by holding a protest rally against the demonetisation anniversary and all along the march flayed the Modi government for adopting anti-people policies while benefiting the rich.

Leaders Deepak Chinchore and Vasant Arkachar among others were present.
