Hubballi: A case has been registered against 70 farmers and pro-kannada activists for laying siege to BJP State president and MP Prahlad Joshi’s residence over implementation of Kalasa Banduri and Mahadayi river project.
The complaint has been registered at Keshwapura station against farmers, pro-kannada activists and several political leaders. On September 26, during Karnataka Bandh, protesters had seized Joshi’s residence at Mayur Estate. At the same time a verbal fight erupted between Joshi’s supporters and farmers. Police had arrested protesters. In connection with the case, police had filed case against 70 people.
The case has been registered against Hubballi-Dharwad city corporation member and JD(S) unit president Rajanna Koravi, Karnataka Rakshana Vedike Hubballi unit president Amrith Ijary, Babajan Mudhola, Manjunatha Loothimatha, Veeranna Malagi, Shekharayya Mathapathi and 70 others for illegal entry into Joshi’s residence and abusing him
No arrests have been made yet in this case, police sources said.
