Hubballi: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has said that he would be more than happy if BJP State President B S Yeddyurappa solved the Mahadayi river issue on his own after coming to power, as the latter had said.

Speaking to reporters at Hubballi airport, Siddaramaiah while replying to a query, sought to know why Yeddyurappa did not come up with such efforts when an all-party delegation was taken to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

He said that so far the BJP leader had not sought any help from the government in these efforts.

On Yeddyurappa terming him a “political novice”, Siddaramaiah asked what ideology Yeddyurappa stood for. He said that he did not have to learn anything from a person who had gone to jail while in power.

Reacting to a query on accusations of involvement of Minister for Mines and Geology Vinay Kulkarni in the murder of BJP leader Yogishgouda Goudar, CM termed it as politically motivated.

While asking media persons to send any audio or visual clips to his office for verification regarding the accusation against Kulkarni, the chief minister said that the government would take the next step after verifying the evidence, but categorically stated that all allegations were politically motivated.

He said the murder case was being treated seriously and already investigation had been completed and the accused charge-sheeted. “The matter is now before the court”, he said and ruled out the possibility of handing over the case to the CBI as being demanded by the wife of the deceased.
