Hubballi: The Congress party is like an arch for the entry of dirty political culture, said Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Thursday January 12.

Commenting on the tweet by former KPCC President and MLA Dinesh Gundurrao saying that ‘Santro Ravi’ is a BJP worker, the CM told mediapersons here that instruction has been given to find out whether Ravi is a BJP worker or not. The Congress Party is politically bankrupt and Dinesh knows well the kind of people there in his party. “I will not stoop to that level. First, the Congress leaders learn to keep their house in order. I don’t have any information about the arrest of Santro Ravi.”

On KPCC President D. K. Shivakumar announcing free 200 units of power to all households if the Congress Party comes back to power, the CM said the Congress leader’s statement shows his frustration and this has given a feeling that Shivakumar didn’t have the intention of implementing it.

“The Congress party wants to win the election by making false promises. It was unbecoming on the part of the Congress Party which had governed the State for several years to make such irresponsible statements. It would have been acceptable had the same statement been made by Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal as he is a novice to politics. When the Congress Government failed to ensure an uninterrupted power supply for six hours how can they give the free power,” he asked.
