The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted light rainfall in several districts of Karnataka from April 6 to 8. According to a press release, on April 6, districts including Dakshina Kannada, Bidar, Kalaburgi, Kodagu, Mandya, and Mysuru are likely to experience light rainfall. On April 7, isolated places in Dakshina Kannada, Bidar, Kalaburgi, Chikkamagaluru, Kodagu, Mandya, and Mysuru are expected to receive light rainfall.
Moving to April 8, additional districts such as Udupi, Uttar Kannada, Belagavi, Dharwad, Gadag, Haveri, Raichur, Vijayapura, Chamarajanagar, Chitradurga, Hassan, Kodagu, and Shivamogga are anticipated to witness light rainfall. However, dry weather is expected to prevail in the remaining districts of the state. Unfortunately, there is no relief in sight for Bengaluru residents as the IMD has not forecasted any rainfall in the city for the next 48 hours.
Meanwhile, Bengaluru experienced its hottest day in the last three years on Tuesday, with temperatures soaring to 37.2 degrees Celsius. At Kempegowda International Airport (KIA), the mercury rose even higher to 37.3 degrees Celsius, while HAL airport and GKVK recorded temperatures of 35.5 degrees Celsius and 36 degrees Celsius, respectively. Conversely, Kalaburagi recorded the highest temperature at 41.6 degrees Celsius, with a maximum of 33.9 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 25.2 degrees Celsius on Tuesday. Bidar registered a maximum temperature of 36.1 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 25.5 degrees Celsius, while Bagalkote reported a maximum temperature of 38.0 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 23.8 degrees Celsius. The lowest maximum temperature recorded was 23.5 degrees Celsius.
