Sandur : In the lead-up to the Sandur by-election, BJP MLA Janardhana Reddy has taken significant steps to solidify his presence in the area by setting up a residence near Shivapura Lake. He performed a house-warming ceremony on Friday, marking a strategic move as the election approaches.
Reddy conducted traditional pooja rituals at his new home, accompanied by his wife, Aruna Lakshmi, and former MLA Somashekhar Reddy. The residence is owned by Ramagadh Raghu, a close associate and fellow BJP leader, and has been temporarily allocated to Reddy for the duration of the election campaign.
Following the ceremony, Reddy visited the home of Bandri Nagaraj, an aspirant for the BJP ticket and the brother-in-law of MP E. Tukaram’s sister. During their meeting, they engaged in discussions related to the upcoming election and the local political landscape, demonstrating Reddy’s active involvement in grassroots campaigning.
In a pointed statement, Reddy accused former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah of unethical land acquisitions, claiming, “Siddaramaiah has acquired 14 plots in his wife’s name and over 100 plots in benami names. If the Enforcement Directorate and CBI investigate, everything will come to light.” This allegation underscores the political rivalry as the election nears.
Reddy also commented on the emotional display of MLA Nagendra during the Valmiki Jayanti celebration, saying, “Poor thing, he has shed tears of fear,” implying that the current political climate is causing anxiety among his opponents.
Janardhana Reddy’s establishment of a residence in Sandur and his active participation in local events signal his commitment to the upcoming by-election. As the political atmosphere intensifies, Reddy’s actions reflect both strategic positioning and an aggressive campaign approach, setting the stage for a competitive electoral battle.
