Kalaburagi: A fatal road accident occurred early Friday morning on the National Highway bypass near Balurgi village in Afzalpur taluk, claiming the life of a 22-year-old pickup truck driver.
The victim, identified as Anil Dasharatha Bhovi from Bandarwada village in Afzalpur, was transporting fish from Jewargi to Solapur when he reportedly lost control of the vehicle. The pickup rammed into a bridge with such force that Anil died instantly at the scene.
Following the incident, Afzalpur Police arrived at the spot and shifted the body to the Government Hospital in Afzalpur. Authorities have stated that the body will be released to the family after the completion of the postmortem procedure.
An official case has been filed at the Afzalpur Police Station, and a detailed investigation into the cause of the accident is currently ongoing.
