Ballari: The final verdict on the Hijab row is very important as its impact is not restricted to State but on the whole country. So they have to wait for the final verdict to come, said Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai.
Addressing mediapersons at Huvinahadagali here on Thursday October 12, he said that the two judges of the Supreme Court have given their verdict. He will give his reaction only after going through the judgement copy. There were lot of dimensions for the Hijab row. The demand of students is different and the Government order is different. Since it involves national and international issues the Government is expecting a clear verdict from the court, he observed.
Replying to a question, he said a video conferencing was held with the Deputy Commissioners of 16 districts to take stock of the rain situation. Usually, there is more rains during October month and it is predicted to receive heavys rain till October 20. The DCs were instructed to make necessary arrangements in this regard. The compensation for house and crop damage is paid at the earliest. The compensation for loss of death has been paid. The other kinds of relief will be paid within 24 hours, he informed.
On assault of RSS workers by some miscreants in Haveri, the CM said arrangements had been going on for last one week and those who went to see the procession route were assaulted. The police have arrested 20 persons in this connection. The Government will take legal action to stamp out such bad elements, he added.
