Ballari: The residents of Indira Nagara in Emmiganur Village have been forced to move to a neighbouring ward since last week as there was no water in the tap. An incident has been reported wherein the women here performed an empty pot protest as there was a persistent water scarcity in the area.

The villagers of the six wards of the village complained that the lack of water in the tap was causing problems for daily use and drinking water. They have been protesting against it. They also alleged that political representatives were negligent about the same.

Since last week, the ward has been facing water crisis due to non-availability of water supply during Diwali festival. The Bovi community has been living here for many years and has been dependent on wage labour. When they come home from work in the evening to collect water, there has been no water supply here. The public here say that they have brought to the notice of the concerned about the ground situation but there has been positive response.

They also complained that it is only the local people who are struggling to get drinking water on a daily basis. The public here is angry that the authorities are not paying any attention to this and are turning a blind eye to it.
