Bidar: In a major breakthrough, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) and the Bidar police jointly conducted a massive crackdown, resulting in the recovery of a staggering Rs 15.50 crore worth of Ganja. Officials seized 1596 kilograms of Ganja, confiscated a lorry, and arrested two persons.
The illicit Ganja was being transported from Andhra Pradesh to Maharashtra through Bidar in a lorry. Acting on specific intelligence, the joint team of NCB and Bidar police launched a rigorous operation near the Vanamarappalli check post in Aurad taluk of Bidar district. During the raid, authorities discovered and confiscated multiple packets of illegal Ganja, amounting to 1,596 kilograms. Additionally, the driver and cleaner responsible for the illegal transportation of Ganja were apprehended. The NCB police have also seized the lorry used for transportation.
A case has been registered at the Aurad police station, and an investigation is ongoing.
