Bidar: The State Government will take a call to hike the quota for Backward Classes within the ambit of the Constitution and legal framework as well as examine a report of the Backward Classes Commission, said Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai.

Asked by reporters at Ballur village on Tuesday October 18 about the hike in reservations for Vokkaliga community as sought by Swamy Nirmalananda Swamiji of Adichunchanagiri Matha, he said the aspirations of all the communities have increased and they want to have good education and employment.

The CM said he was happy that the Centre of Excellence of CIPET is coming up in Bidar District and thanked Union Health, Fertiliser and Chemicals Minister Mansukh Mandaviya and Union Minister of State for Renewable Sources of Energy, Chemicals and Fertilisers Bhagwanth Khuba for their initiation. The State Government will extend its full cooperation for this project. The work on this project will commence soon, he said.

Bommai said there has been a very good response to the Jan Sankalp Yatra in Aurad and Humnabad in Bidar District just like the reaction of people in Raichur, Koppal, Vijayanagar and Ballari Districts last week. The participation of people in this yatra is indicating it is becoming the Vijay Sankalp Yatra, he expressed.

When asked CM whether is it possible for him to speak without taking the name of Leader of Opposition in the State Legislative Assembly Siddaramaiah, Bommai said he knows to take whose name in his speech. Can Siddaramaiah make a speech without mentioning BJP or RSS?, he questioned.
