Bidar: Four people were taken into custody and nine others were booked after a group of local Dussehra procession participants entered the Mahmud Gawan Madrasa and performed pooja, according to the police in Bidar District on Thursday October 6.
Muslims in the area protested outside the local police station to seek that the accused be brought to justice after a video showing the crowd performing pooja inside the madrasa went viral.
In addition, they alleged that the mob damaged a coconut during the pooja, causing damage to the madrasa’s structure. But the allegation was not confirmed by the police. The nine were booked with illegally trespassing into the heritage structure and they had been arrested, according to Additional Superintendent of Police Mahesh Meghannavar.
