Kalaburagi: Former Minister K. S. Eshwarappa criticised his own party leaders for refusing to reinstate him in the Cabinet even after he was cleared of the accusation of abetting the suicide of contractor Santhosh Patil.
Speaking to mediapersons here he said, “If I want to get married, I will be satisfied only after I get married in reality. Is it not? It appears like the party is still acting like they are looking for a bride. Let’s wait and see. Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai, former CM Yediyurappa, and BJP National Secretary B. L. Santhosh had called and congratulated me after I was given a clean chit in the case. They promised to take me back into the Cabinet soon. The same thing is being said right now. Being denied entry to the Cabinet made me unhappy.”
“The Minister position doesn’t bother me. I’ll effectively handle whatever duties the party’s leaders give me. I will help organise the party if I do not get a Cabinet position,” he said.
