Kalaburagi: Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment A. Narayanasamy said that the position of an officer who does not do good and socially desired work is of no value and such an officer is good for nothing.

Speaking after inaugurating the Ambedkar Centre of Excellence and three hostels at CUK near Kadaganchi, he said, “How can a top officer study in the country’s top cadres like IAS, IPS, KAS, get a higher post and come and sit in the Vidhana Soudha and not work,” he said. “There is no magic that will change our lives in the degrees that the bureaucrats and students get,” he said, adding that it is only from the knowledge that we learn and gain.

“Universities and professors should impart knowledge irrespective of class or caste. That’s wherw the new education policy come into play,” he said.

He said that it is welcoming that in our country, the Dalit community is being given an opportunity to rise to such a high post as UPSC under the Constitutional Reservation, which has been followed step by step from the reservation system of education based on class, society and caste.
