Kalaburagi: As many as 30 villagers were admitted to the hospital after drinking contaminated water in Mandeval Thanda in Jewargi on Friday October 14.
It is the second such incident in Mandeval Thanda in one month.
On September 10, a pipeline that had rusted and developed holes through which rainwater was mixed with drinking water and over 50 people, including children, were admitted to the hospital.
The Gram Panchayat and Taluk Health officials have not taken any action to stop such events from happening even after the incident.
According to sources, of the 30 patients, 22 have been admitted to the taluk hospital, and eight have been shifted to the Gulbarga Institute of Medical Sciences (GIMS) because the taluk hospital was short on hospital facilities.
