Koppal: Car-tractor collision, one dies on spot

Koppal: One person was killed on the spot and two others were injured when the car in which they were travelling collided head-on with a sugarcane tractor and overturned.

The deceased has been identified as Nagesh Rao (46), owner of Durga Sweet Shop in Sriramanagara, which took place at 5.30 am on Wednesday November 30 on the Main Road near a pit between Sriramanagara and Pragatinagara in Gangavathi Taluk of the District.

The accident took place on Wednesday when a tractor carrying sugarcane collided head-on while he was coming in his car accompanied by senior Swamis to take Lord Ayyappa Varata at the Swami Ayyappa Temple in Vidyanagar.

Nagesh Rao, who was driving, died on the spot while Sheshadri Rao and Suresh of Anjoori Camp sustained injuries. The injured have been admitted to Gangavathi Government Hospital.

A case has been registered at Rural Police Station.
