Koppal: Eight-year old car accident case, accused punished

Koppal: The Kushtagi JFC Court has awarded punishment to the accused car driver in a road accident case that took place eight years ago.

On May 15, 2015, Vasanthakumar Rajashekhara Nayaka’s car was hit by a TVS Driver Shankrappa Parasappa Ragi while driving at a very high speed at a divider near Neelappa Kumbara’s land, killing the TVS rider on the spot.

Kushtagi Principal Civil and JMFP Court Judge Shambhulingaiah Mudimatha, has convicted the accused and imposed a fine of Rs.1000 under Section 279 of the IPC and simple imprisonment for 6 months as well as a fine of Rs. 10,000 under Section 304 (A) and 6 months of plain imprisonment (a total of 12 months imprisonment and a fine of Rs. 1,000).
