Koppal: Due to heavy rains in the District, the houses including agriculture and horticulture crops have been damaged.
Disha Samiti President and MP Sanganna Karadi said that the authorities should take immediate action in this regard and provide relief to the farmers.
He was speaking after chairing the 1st and 2nd quarter progress review meeting of the District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee for the year 2022-23 held at ZP J. H. Patel Auditorium, recently. “Provide relief measures from the Government for agro-horticulture crops damaged due to incessant rains in the district. Crop damage should be entered in Mahiti software and action should be taken to provide quick compensation to the farmers. The JJM should complete the work at the earliest and ensure that there are no complaints from the public and the benefits of the scheme should be delivered to the public, he said.
He also said that Transport Department officials should keep a close watch on heavy vehicular traffic in the District. The roads within the rural areas are mostly narrow and are damaged due to movement of heavy vehicles. Heavy vehicles should be allowed to ply only on designated roads. The RTO should take appropriate action in this regard. Officials of the Public Works Department should take care of the rural roads and take immediate action, he said.
