Koppal: Umesh Hiremath, who was on compulsory leave when he was in the service as the Municipal Chief, brutally murdered his wife at Veerapura Village in Mundaragi Taluk of Gadag District.
The incident took place in his native Village Veerapura Village, where Umesh Hiremath’s wife was stabbed to death with a knife for questioning his illicit relationship and family.
When Umesh was the Chief Officer of Kushtagi, the Koppal Deputy Commissioner had imposed compulsory leave in the wake of irregularities in the layout works. He is currently serving as the Community Liaison Officer of Yelaburga Town Panchayat.
