Koppal: The Rural Police registered a case of illegal transportation of money in a private bus without documents and registered a case at the Rural Police Station and seized Rs 60.50 Lakh near Vidyanagar Police Checkpost.
Vijayakumar Kalaburagi, a 60-year-old man, was travelling in a private bus.
Acting on a tip-off that Rs. 50 Lakh was being transported, the Rural Police stopped a private bus near Vidyanagar checkpost at around 1.00 am on Tuesday April 18 and when they checked it, they came to know that Vijayakumar, a resident of Kalaburagi, was illegally siphoning off unaccounted money.
Vijaykumar was immediately taken away by the Police along with the money for a year.
In another case, a man named Revanasiddappa was found to be in possession of Rs 6.40 Lakh by the Rural Police in Sriram Nagara. The money was seized and a case was registered.
