Koppal: More than 25 people fell ill after consuming contaminated water for the past four to five days at Bachanala Village in Kushtagi Taluk of the District.
In Bachanala Village, which comes under Menedala Gram Panchayat limits, the villagers have been in a state of panic after vomitting and dysentery for the past one week. At present, more than 20 patients from the village are undergoing treatment at Tavaregara and Gangavathi Hospitals, the villagers said.
There are more than 200 houses in the village and 2,000 people live there. The villagers suspect that the vomiting may have been caused by the consumption of water from a borewell drilled near a pit adjacent to the village.
