Raichur: With reports making headlines that the Congress government at the state is contemplating to withdraw 13 cases registered against Sri Rama Sene Leader Pramodh muthalik, Chief Minister Sidddaramaiah, on Sunday categorically refuted the same stating that there are no plans to drop any case that stands against Muthalik.
Interacting with presspersons here, he said that the news was a construct by the media.
Earlier, Home Minister G Parameshwar too had refuted these rumours and said that there are no chances of withdrawing cases against Muthalik.
Several cases stand registered against Muthalik, including cases pertaining to the inglorious Mangaluru Pub Attack incident.
In this regard, Dakshina Kannada Deputy Commissioner had written to the CM stating that withdrawal of cases against Muthalik will only demoralise the police.
Instead, the Deputy Commissioner wanted the State government to ensure that the cases were pursued thoroughly and brought to their logical conclusion.
