Raichur: Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said the foundation stone of the District’s airport will be laid next month. “The Karnataka state’s Raichur is an important centre. Raichur’s overall development and are directly linked. Steps will also be taken for the construction of a special textile park,” he said.
He stressed on the significance of the discussion on the Raichur District and said, “I urge the chancellor print the discussion and decisions here and call it the Raichur Millet Declaration.”
The announcement follows Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao’s demand that the district of Raichur be merged with that State. The claim, according to CM Bommai, is ‘politically motivated’ and intended to distract people from important Telangana issues.
